Scholarship Programs
- Academic Scholarships are awarded to those qualified students who list Christ the King High School as their FIRST CHOICE.
- Also taken into consideration for all academic scholarships are the student’s 6th, 7th and 8th grade report card grades and their Standardized Test Scores (e.g., State and/or iReady exams.)
- All scholarships are applied towards the cost of tuition ONLY. All fees are the responsibility of the recipient.
- Scholarships and Awards are only given at the time of 9th grade admission. They are not given in any other grade.
Scholarships & Awards
PRINCIPAL’S RECOMMENDATION SCHOLARSHIP*
The Principal’s Recommendation Scholarship is a 4 year full scholarship offered to the eighth grader who is hard-working and of high academic standing. He or she should demonstrate leadership qualities, be sensitive and respectful towards others, as well as responsible and mature—in short, a student that represents the best of his/her school. The student is recommended by his or her elementary school principal and must list Christ the King as his/her first choice on the TACHS form in order to be eligible for this scholarship. Recommendation forms are sent to the elementary school principals sometime in November. There is only ONE recipient of this scholarship.
ACADEMIC FULL SCHOLARSHIP*
To be considered for this 4 year academic full scholarship, a student must score in the 95th percentile or higher on the TACHS Exam. Recipients of this scholarship are enrolled in the Royal Honors Program which includes a combination of Honors and Advanced Placement courses over the 4 years of high school. Recipients must maintain an overall average of 90% in order to maintain this scholarship.
ACADEMIC HALF SCHOLARSHIP**
To be considered for this 4 year academic half scholarship, qualified students must score between the 90th and 95th percentile on the TACHS. The recipient of this scholarship is enrolled in the Royal Honors Program which includes a combination of Honors and Advanced Placement courses over the 4 years of high school. The recipient must maintain an overall average of 90% in order to maintain this scholarship.
ACADEMIC PARTIAL SCHOLARSHIP**
To be considered for this 4 year academic partial scholarship, qualified students must score above the 85 percentile on the TACHS. The recipient of this scholarship is enrolled in the Royal Honors Program which includes a combination of Honors and Advanced Placement courses over the 4 years of high school. The recipient must maintain an overall average of 90% in order to maintain this scholarship.
INCENTIVE AWARD**
To be considered for this 4 year academic incentive award, qualified students must score well on the TACHS. The recipient of this award may have chosen Christ the King as either 1st or 2nd choice. The recipient can be enrolled in the Royal Honors Program which includes a combination of Regents, Honors and Advanced Placement courses over the 4 years of high school. The recipient must maintain an overall average of 85% in order to maintain this incentive award.
CHRIST THE KING CATHOLIC SCHOOL LOYALTY AWARD**
This award is offered to all students who currently attend Catholic grammar schools/academies and will be attending Christ the King HS. It is made possible through the Christ the King Continuing Education acquisition of a lease from the Middle Village Preparatory Charter School which has commenced operations on the Christ the King Campus effective September 2013. This is a 4 year award which is $500.00 per year to be applied in reduction of your tuition only.
LEGACY FUND**
The Alumni Office is pleased to announce the Legacy Fund. This award has been made possible through an endowment by Christ the King Continuing Education (CK Kids). To be eligible for this award of $500 per year, per student, a parent or legal guardian must be a graduate of Christ the King High School. This is in addition to any award or scholarship received (excluding full scholarship).
SERPHIN R. MALTESE TUITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM**
The Serphin R. Maltese Tuition Assistance Program awards grants to qualifying families of upperclassmen (sophomores, juniors, and seniors) who have been at Christ the King for at least one year. This program would not be possible without the financial support of the Christ the King Continuing Education Program which has funded $100,000 for 2024-2025 school year’s program. Christ the King has partnered with FACTS Management to conduct the financial need analysis. Families applying for Tuition Assistance must complete an application and submit the necessary supporting documentation to FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment.
CONSTANCE DEL VECCHIO MALTESE SCHOLARSHIP ARTS SCHOLARSHIP**
Constance Del Vecchio Maltese, a renowned painter and artist, and wife of CK Board of Trustees Chairman, Serphin R. Maltese, passed away on December 7, 2018. A scholarship fund has been created in her honor to be awarded to a student who demonstrates excellence in artistic endeavors as well as academics.
COLUMBUS CITIZENS FOUNDATION**
The Columbus Citizens Foundation is a non-profit organization in New York City committed to fostering an appreciation of Italian-American heritage and achievement. The Foundation, through a broad range of philanthropic and cultural activities, provides opportunities for advancement to deserving Italian-American students through various scholarships and grant programs. Partial four-year scholarships are available to incoming freshmen who meet the following eligibility requirements: Italian heritage (25% minimum,) financial need, academic excellence (85% GPA or more) and service to school and community.
